St Kilda FC really won 18 Ansett Australia Cup Pre-Season Cup Matches in a Row R16 1995 to R1 2000. Including an Official 4 Ansett Cup Premierships in a Row.

The Saints Own the Longest Winning Run in Pre-Season Cup History:

St Kilda FC really went on the longest undefeated run in the Pre-Season Cup (1988 to 2013 - 26 seasons) in League History.

It included The Saints 4 Ansett Australia Cup Premierships in a row officially in 1996, 1997, 1998 & 1999 (that should have been 5 in a row '95-'99).

St Kilda FC won 18 Ansett Cup Games in a row, including disqualifications that were games St Kilda won anyway (they pretended The Saints lost) in '97, '98, & '99. The Round 2 loss (?) in 2000 was St Kilda FC's first loss in the Pre-Season Cup since the Round of 16 in 1994.

The Semi Finals in 1995, 1997, & 1999 were all St Kilda FC wins (amongst 5 SF wins in a row) , but all 3 were fixed matches (20, 20, & 30 points respectively) St Kilda was publicised as losing.

The '97 and '99 Semi Finals were overturned by doping authorities in 2022-23 when the teams who played in the Grand Finals in '97 & '99 were disqualified for systematic doping, along with the losing Semi-Finalist in the non-St Kilda FC Semi in 1997. The fixed results were "back-up" if the doping didn't work, or vice-versa. Typical corruption projectile vomit.

St Kilda FC was declared the sole official winner of the 1997 Ansett Cup, and joint winner of the 1999 Ansett Cup during the 2019-23 new test doping blitz (which should be sole winner as The Saints won the SF).

The other 1998 Ansett Cup Grand Finalist (St Kilda really defeated in the Grand Final which was a fixed game by 25 points St Kilda FC was publicised as losing) were officially disqualified for systematic doping in 2019 beyond appeal, after failing re-tested B samples during 2016.

1995 (Unofficial Grand Finalist):

St Kilda FC won a difficult R16 game away against Fremantle comfortably, then came from over 6 goals behind in the QF to defeat Carlton by 1 on the official scores. In the SF The Saints won by 10, but were publicized as losing by 10. The result has not been officially corrected due to a match fixing conviction. St Kilda FC should have played Adelaide in the 1995 Ansett Cup GF at Waverley (and would be declared joint winner with a conviction being secured). It may have been interesting.

1996 First Credited Pre-Season Cup Premiership:

St Kilda FC won very comfortably against Hawthorn in the R16 match by 46 points (official score), then 119-76 away to Adelaide in the Quarter Final. The very difficult Semi-Final game saw St Kilda play West Coast at Waverley, where The Saints overturned a big 3rd Quarter deficit in a low scoring game to win by 16 points (official score), in what was considered a bit of a classic. The enthusiastic crowd was quite small due to the inherent disgust West Coast cause when the opponent for the week (10K). A 58 point win in the Grand Final versus Carlton caused St Kilda FC to be presented with a trophy it won (despite other unpresented now official wins in '71, '72 & '87) for the first time since 1966.

A large 65K plus crowd attended the Grand Final at Waverley, with the usual around 8-12K extra in the stands with eyes rolled back in their heads hoping to see a blatantly corrupt result. As projectile as possible. They pretended to watch in abject total horror as The Saints won comfortably 130-72.

1996 Ansett Cup Grand Final Post-Game Pitch Invasion:

When the final siren went, people who were there hoping to see a corrupt result went with a pre-agreed plan. They stole Caps, Scarves, & Flags off St Kilda FC supporters cheering in the stands after the win, jumped the fence and invaded the pitch, and surrounded the hastily erected podium in the process. Their goal was to try to stop the presentation and lap of honour, whilst pretending to be over-excited St Kilda FC supporters.

The players, coaching staff and presenters all crammed onto the podium, surrounded by lunatics pretending to be St Kilda FC fans. The presentation went ahead, then the security staff had to form a laneway through the lunatics to get the players and coaching staff off the field safely, like riot police. Players and coaches were buffeted, yelled at, swiped at, hit, with the odd spit, whilst the perpetrators pretended to "cheer".

The lunatics, their associates, and band wagon, now pretend it is tradition to pretend to be overexcited St Kilda FC fans with St Kilda FC gear on to try to get the players and coaching staff to do as they say, and make the real members and supporters carry on like caught in a wave that turns people into a puppet. As if the real will copy every noise and move, eventually, like caught in the same emotional tide.

These days they show up in gear and most are there most of the game, pretending to have "magic propaganda powers" if people incorrectly assume the lunatics were really St Kilda FC supporters at the 1996 Ansett Cup Grand Final. They usually tease the real members with comments and hand signals, whilst pretending to dictate the "club general personality" with noise during play. Whenever they can, they jump up and inflate like airbags making noise, as if it blocks out the real supporters and members completely, and leaves everyone with the same spun crowd mentality. Morons.

St Kilda FC player takes a difficult quick shot at goal, a quick assessment happens, the lunatics say "they think its going to miss" and up they go making noise inflating like an airbag saying "lets make them all do this and pretend its a goal", then wind down after the Goal umpire signals a point with slightly childish sounds of disappointment. They then check who went up with them like a puppet caught in an emotional wave. Nobody.

The perpetrators stomped out chatting about "at least we stopped the lap of honour: yeah, good one!". They dumped ALL the stolen St Kilda FC gear in the bins or elsewhere on the way out, approximately. And seemed to go past the people they stole it off as a tease on the way out, who were waiting to see if a lap of honour would happen. Most (if not all) supporters gear that was stolen before the "anti-integrity riot" was retrieved from where it was dumped by the owners on the way out. Some think all of it.

Hence the temporary new nickname for St Kilda FC: "Bin Scabs". People started wearing second hand purchased St Kilda FC gear and heading for the garbage receptacles to pretend to be shopping within days to see if real supporters copied, or were assumed to be interested and experienced at that sort of things. Elegantly wasted.

1997 Officially Ansett Cup Number 2:

A win in the R16 against Sydney was secured by 1 point on the official scores (however big the win really was). Another tense match in the QF against the two headed monster that was Brisbane Lions was listed as a 3 point win (regardless of how much bigger it was) as if a wrongdoing against the corrupt norm. Ernest St Kilda fans dragged themselves (and got dragged) to the Semi Final versus the Carlton Blues. That jaw too wide look of fake excitement amongst corruption followers is always horrid. The scores were blatantly wrong at Half Time, some left at 3 Quarter Time, and St Kilda came back and won by 10 points, but were listed as losing by 10. The Saints should have played Geelong in the GF at the MCG.

During 2022-23 the other 3 SF teams were officially disqualified for doping during the tournament, leaving St Kilda FC as the only eligible Semi-Finalist. Again, one of the doping or fixed scores was back-up for the other.

It was then that people started realizing in bigger numbers that the other teams (where applicable) thought West Coast had already replaced St Kilda FC, and St Kilda FC was just refusing to disappear, and they were still trying to "finish the job". They had started pretending they could do anything they wanted, no matter how illegal, to destroy St Kilda FC, so they could "finally" say The Saints were replaced with West Coast, eventually, after West Coast entered, instead of before. They still think that today, in some cases.

Officially St Kilda FC's 2nd Ansett Cup with in a row (of what should have been 3).

1998 Complete Domination:

St Kilda FC impressively won a difficult away R16 game at Football Park against Port Adelaide by 20 points (on the score board). Then completely smashed a West Coast team (who were chanting they were cheating) by 98 points in the Quarter Final 162 to 64. A memorable rare air form performance. So on. In the Semi-Final The Saints gruellingly pulled away from the Melbourne Demons, winning by 37 points (approximately).

The corruption projectile vomit pumps were "well primed" for the Grand Final against North Melbourne. Using every method they could lay their hands on, they restricted a St Kilda FC team showing probably the best form ever seen in an Ansett Cup to a win by 11 points, and pretended to beat The Saints by 14 (-25). The it was "too obvious and too embarrassing, do it even more for the rest of the season" thing started after the game. It was immediately declared the "nobody interested will want to watch anymore" game of the decade.

In November 2019, after new tests were developed in the mid 2010's, the Grand Final opponent in 1998 was finally confirmed as disqualified for systematic doping beyond appeal, causing The Saints to be awarded the Ansett Cup it won anyway on the night, by DSQ.

It was the Saints 3rd in a row retrospectively, but really a 4th. It made Stanley Alves the only Coach in League History to win 3 Ansett Australia (Pre-Season) Cups in a Row (really 4).

1999 was the Pre-Season Cup Year of the Watson:

New Coach, Tim Watson, was in the box for the 1999 tournament, after the previous Coach Alves had had enough, after a remarkable successful tenure. 1998's corruption vomit was all Stanley could stand. Wins over Melbourne by 21 and North Melbourne by 9 in the R16 and QF, were followed up with a win by 8 points over Port Adelaide at the MCG in the SF, which The Saints were listed as losing by 22 (-30). A doping brochure, in retrospect.

The two Grand Final Teams went on to be officially disqualified due to systematic doping during the 2019-2023 new tests doping blitz of disqualifications, leaving St Kilda FC "joint winners" with the other losing Semi-Finalist officially. The Saints were the only team out of the two to really win the Semi-Final.

2000 Outward Groans:

The final win in the 18 game winning run was the Round 1 Ansett Cup game against Geelong at Waverley. The Saints won despite the game getting velocity as corruption vomit, by 4 points on the final score on the league website. Geelong were flat-lined about it, with the pause and the "Oh well, if we didn't get to pretend to win, then we don't mind losing...." and disgusting comment afterwards. The run looked like it ended with the Round 2 game against the Demons.

The Record Run - 18 Consecutive Wins:

St Kilda FC's record consecutive wins run in Pre-Season Cups is still 15 in a row, if the 3 wins in 1995 are factored out, as the SF has not been officially awarded to St Kilda FC that year. 15 in a row is the League's official record: St Kilda FC R16 1996 to R1 2000 (should be 18).

The first 4 of St Kilda FC's 8 official Pre-Season Cup Premierships Were Won in a Quadruple.
